Lipodissolve

Lipodissolve is the new and gentle way to dissolve small to medium unwanted fat deposits that are not affected by diet or exercise.

Lipodissolve has been utilized for cosmetic purposes since the mid 90s. It is a non-surgical treatment which involves a naturally occurring enzyme solution (and soy product) called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate, or PCDC, which is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve the fat in unwanted areas. PCDC has been used in various medical applications since the 1950s.

After the Lipodissolve injections are administered, fat cells are broken down, absorbed and excreted by the body. The treatment is a safe and effective solution, consistently and predictably dissolving fat in areas typically hard to target with exercise such as the upper and lower abdomen, thighs, buttocks, upper arms and chin. It is known to be safe and it provides significantly less downtime than surgical procedures such as liposuction and abdominoplasty. Traditionally after a Lipodissolve treatment, there is no requirement for bed rest or reduced activity and most patients resume their normal schedule immediately. The minimal disruption in their daily agenda is the reason most patients find this treatment so ideal.

Frequently Asked Questions
 1. How effective is Lipodissolve?
Multi country trials have revealed the patient satisfaction rating to be quite high. The average circumference reduction is 2 to 6 cm, depending upon the area treated with the following average centimeter reductions per treatment by body area, lower belly 6.2, upper belly 5.9, love handles 4.2, saddlebags 3.5, upper thigh 3.0 & knee 2.6.

 2. Who is suitable for Lipodissolve?
Lipodissolve is a safe & affordable body shaping method, suitable for many people  and consistently helps people of all shapes and sizes. It is ideally suited to those with lean figures desiring refinement of one or more problem areas. The only people who are not suitable for Lipodissolve are extremely overweight patients.

 3. Is Lipodissolve safe?
Lipodissolve has safely treated hundreds of thousands of people. The reason why it is so effective is not due to any toxic chemicals as the components that form Lipodissolve are totally natural and already exist within your body. Lipodissolve is effective because the precise placement of these concentrated natural substances into the fatty tissues dissolves and destroys fat cells.

 4. How is Lipodissolve administered?
Lipodissolve is gently injected into troublesome fat deposits with micro-fine needles similar to acupuncture needles. Injections take around 5 to 10 minutes, do not require any anesthetic, and are easily tolerated. There can be some injection discomfort, redness, mild burning or itchiness, though these soon pass. It is safe & easy! Treated areas can become tender and swollen for a few days, as your body prepares to remove your dissolved fat.

 5. How much weight can I lose?
Patients often report that dieting is easier after Lipodissolve and this may be associated with weight loss. The effects of Lipodissolve are greater for those who simultaneously improve their lifestyles during the 2-3 month fat dissolving period. The greater achievers are always those who conscientiously improve their diets

 6. When will I notice results?
Within 2 weeks the treated areas slowly begin to soften, any minor bruising resolves and the fatty tissue thickness gradually begins to reduce. Most people begin to notice contour improvement around the 4th week. The maximum fat loss occurs between the 4th and 8th week, and this is when the maximum changes in contours are noted. As it takes your body up to 12 weeks to fully remove the dissolved fat, permanent improvements continue to occur up to this time. Slight lumpiness due to the body preparing the fat cell contents for elimination can sometimes be felt (but not seen) in the treated areas during the first 10 weeks. Lipodissolve offers a very gentle and simple solution to permanently improve unwanted fatty deposits forever!

 7. Who should not have Lipodissolve?
Lipodissolve is not recommended for children, pregnancy, breast feeding or if you suffer from (active cancer, HIV AIDS, Hepatitis B or C) or a severe end stage metabolic disease. It is also not recommended for the morbidly obese.

 8. What are the side effects?
Side effects include mild bruising, itching, swelling and tenderness. During the first day a minority of patients can rarely also experience nausea, fever, dizziness or fainting. These people will have to rest for an hour or so until the symptoms pass but for everyone else there is virtually no down time so you can return directly to your work and social life.

 9. What areas can be treated?
Any area of the body from the knee up can be treated. The commonest treated areas are  abdomen, thighs, hips, saddle bags, love handles, flanks, buttock, arms, neck, jowls and lower third of face.

10. How much does it cost?
The cost of a Lipodissolve treatment is dependent on the number of areas to be treated and may be as little as $400 per session. Our initial consultation is free and obligation free.

11. What happens at the initial consultation?
During the consultation Dr. Porcaro will obtain a history, perform a physical examination, will answer your questions, discuss your particular needs, develop realistic expectations and formulate a treatment plan. If you then decide to proceed with treatment he will then document your weight, circumferences and skin fold thicknesses, and then administer the treatment, which usually only takes around 5 to 10 minutes

12. Can I keep on exercising after having Lipodissolve?
It is a good idea to avoid aggressive exercise for the first 24 hours after having lipodissolve, as a minority of patients can feel unwell during this period. Exercising can recommence the following day but remember that any activity that wobbles the treated fat will be uncomfortable as your treated fat will be sore. This can be lessened by wearing tight garments such as bike pants, leotards or skins.

13. Can I have Lipodissolve if I am taking medications?
Yes as Lipodissolve doesn’t react with medications.

14. Can I go back to work after the procedure?
Many people do return to either their work or social life directly after having Lipodissolve. Please remember, however, that a minority of patients do feel unwell for the first few hours after treatment. As we cannot predict which patients will develop this side effect, we don't recommend that you schedule your treatment on a day when you have important work or social engagements planned.

15. How does Lipodissolve differ from Mesotherapy?
Lipodissolve and Mesotherapy are often confused. The major difference is that Lipodissolve is the treatment of the body’s fat layer with PCDC to permanently dissolve away fat cells, whereas Mesotherapy is the treatment of the hypodermis with various, pharmaceuticals and vitamins, usually to improve the overlying skin.

16. Is Lipodissolve permanent? Will the fat ever come back?
Lipodissolve permanently destroys and removes some of your unwanted fat cells. Once they have been destroyed they can never come back. Since we do not grow or develop new fat cells after puberty, the results are permanent.

17. If I put on weight will the fat go to other areas?
The aim of Lipodissolve is to permanently remove fat cells from areas of your body where you have excessive fat cells, compared to the rest of your body. The goal is to have a more even fatty layer, rather than a disproportional one. Once this is achieved, if you gain weight, then you will gain it more evenly than you did previously.

18. Does it hurt?
As the only way to administer Lipodissolve is via microfine injections through the skin, which does result in minimal discomfort.
