Hyaluronic acids are natural polysaccharides, which are versatile soft tissue filler. Juvederm, Restylane & Perlane are the hyaluronic acids widely used for the management of wrinkles, fine lines, contour deformities, and volumetric deficiencies of the face, cheeks, and lips associated with aging, developmental anomalies, and certain diseases.  

Juvederm, Restylane & Perlane are FDA approved gel dermal fillers composed of hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar already found naturally in the body. They have become favored compounds for replenishing areas of the face where the skin's volume and fullness have been lost.

 

In the body, hyaluronic acid fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers of the skin. It is present in all living cells; attracting and binding water, hydrating and giving the skin smoothness and volume.

As  the body ages, however, the ability of the body's cells to manufacture its own hyaluronic acid is diminished, resulting in the loss of skin volume, producing folds and wrinkles.

Juvederm, Restylane & Perlane are bio- synthetic and of non-animal origin, so there is little chance of allergic reaction. The formulas are slightly different these both products are highly bio- compatible, and no skin testing is required prior to administration. They have proven to be safe and effective for skin of all types and colors.

Technique:

 

Before injecting fillers, Dr Porcaro will apply a quick acting topical anesthetic to the overlying skin, which is usually sufficient for your comfort. Dr Porcaro will perform a dental block for lip enhancement so you will completely numb before the injection.

 

Juvederm, Restylane & Perlane are injected into wrinkles and creases with minimal discomfort, especially since these products generally have a local anesthetic (lidocaine) mixed with the filler. The effects of these fillers are immediate and they will last from 6-12 mos., depending on the product and the site of injection!.
