 How Dr Porcaro Performs Liposculpture:

You will have the opportunity to have oral or IV sedation but for many patients the local anesthetic that is placed in the treatment areas is sufficient to relieve any discomfort. Dr Porcaro allows about 1/2 hour to slowly administer the local anesthetic and routinely waits 30 min for the local anesthetic to take effect before starting the actual body contouring. The procedure is typically begun with the patient lying on her back.

After the initial treatment of, i.e., the abdomen, you will move yourself onto your right side and then onto your left side and then you will turn on to your tummy, with fat being removed and contouring taking place in each position.

The final stage of the procedure is performed while you are standing- yes standing! This enables Dr Porcaro to assess your results WITH the effects of Gravity and make final contouring adjustments, as needed. This circumferential approach just can't be done if you are deeply sedated, under epidural, spinal or general anesthesia!

Your fat that is removed with Tumescent Liposculpture can be used to graft areas where you may be deficient in fat, such as the buttocks- buttock augmentation. Your fat can also be transferred (Fat Transfer) to your face and hands (to improve the signs of aging) and the labia majora to replace lost volume.
