Dr Porcaro was invited to present his experionce with hair restoration surgery for male pattern hair loss at the Annual Meeting of the American Acamedy of Cosmetic Surgery in Las Vegas in January, 2013. This meeting was attended by over 600 physicians.

Dr. Porcaro’s status with Valeant, the manufacturer of Sculptra Aesthetic, was recently elevated from Gold to Platinum. Dr. Porcaro has been a Platinum level  provider for Botox and Juvederm for some time and he is the only Platinum level Sculptra, Botox and Juvederm  injector on the Treasure Coast of Florida. This indicated very high volume usage and experience with these product. Platinum level status also means that we pay less to purchase these products and pass along the savings to our patients. Dr. Porcaro was honored to be one of the examiners for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery oral exam that took place in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, Oct 20, 2012. All 43 physicians who sat for the oral (& written exam that took place the next day) were already Board Certified in their specialty- Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Otolaryngology, Dermatology and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The American Board of Cosmetic surgery is the only Board the specifically tests a surgeon’s knowledge and experience in Cosmetic Surgery. Chiropractors, who are Nonphysicians, market a “laser” to “shed unwanted belly fat”. Unfortunately, this ” Laser” is actually not a laser, but an infrared lamp per the FDA! the Lapex 2000 has an FDA indication “for the temporary relief of hand and wrist pain associated with carpal Tunnel Syndrome”! There is no FDA indication to use this device in the treatment of unwanted fat!

Liposuction, liposculpture and authentic lasers, such as the Lipotherme, are FDA approved for the treatment of unwanted fat. By invitation of the American Society of Lipo-suction Surgery, Dr Porcaro was asked to present the topic: Liposuctions Specifics: Preparation, Marking, Positioning, Dressings & Post op Care of Liposuction Patients. This  meeting took place in Las Vegas and was part of the annual meeting of  The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery& was attended by ~700 physicians.

Dr Porcaro is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the highest designation of this prestigeous organization, with over 2,600 physician members.
